Finding Fall

Finding Fall by Vegan À La ModeThis past Sunday, my boyfriend, Thomas and I took an impromptu day trip to Julian which is about a small town outside of San Diego famed for their apple pies and rich history (it was a mining town during the Gold Rush). We wanted a change of scenery for the day since it hardly looks like fall in sunny San Diego.

We were in luck. There was a cool breeze and plenty of the gorgeous fall colors were were eager to see. The drive there was so beautiful too so it was well worth the hour and a half drive! Once we arrived in Julian we walked around the town and stopped in the small shops. We also checked out Apple Alley Bakery on Main St. which I heard had vegan apple pies but unfortunately there were no gluten-free vegan pies. The gluten-free pie they do offer has butter in it so beware of that if you happen to visit. But it’s still awesome that there are some vegan options even in a tiny town like Julian!

My outfit was simple since it was chilly and we were doing a lot of walking. I wore my H&M parka to keep me warm while we explored the town. H&M is one of my favorite places to shop for fall and winter clothing because you can usually find plenty of coats and jackets that don’t use common animal products such as wool, leather, cashmere, and angora. Just make sure you scan over the fabric content on the tag before buying! You can hover over the last photo for my outfit details.
