It feels so good to be back to blogging on the weekends! After just one weekend off, recovering from my surgery, I was really missing it! I truly love coming up with a concept for each post, picking the outfit, choosing a location and shooting. I’m feeling so much better now, so this weekend I worked on two posts!
Dress: Secondhand Forever 21 (Similar), Shoes: Ruche, Bag: J.Crew; Sold Out (Similar)
For this particular look, I was really inspired by the movie, The Age Of Adaline. I saw it last week and fell in love the wardrobe in the movie. Blake Lively’s character, Adaline, lived through the decades so many of her outfits were inspired by various decades like the 40s and 50s. After seeing the movie, I went home and did some research on the movie’s wardrobe. The costume designers combined vintage, contemporary to create Adaline’s 21st-century feminine and classic look. In case you don’t know, I used to want to be a costume designer which is why I find movie and TV costumes to be so fascinating. It’s amazing what a story an outfit can tell. For my Adaline inspired look, I simply pulled pieces I already owned. I chose a blush floral flared dress and paired it with strappy sandals and quilted bag. My exact dress isn’t available since I purchased it a few years ago, but I have tagged a similar one. You can easily recreate this look with any pale pink belted flare dress though! If you haven’t seen the movie and love vintage fashion, I highly recommend it! I had a fun time scrolling through Adaline through the decades gallery after seeing it and pulling more inspiration from there.
