Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie
Peanut butter smoothies are one of my favorite things. I love to switch up the flavors of my peanut butter smoothies by adding strawberries or in this case cacao. This one is one of my favorites because there’s no better combo than peanut butter and chocolate. The peanut butter adds protein while the cacao is energizing. It feels like such a treat too because it’s a sweet breakfast but contains no added sweeteners!
This vegan smoothie is great any time of day! Breakfast, snack time, dessert, etc! You can also dress it up with some cacao nibs, banana slices and an extra drizzle of peanut butter if desired!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie (Vegan and Gluten-Free)
Serves 2
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk
2 pitted Medjool dates
1 cup chopped frozen bananas
3 tablespoons of organic creamy peanut butter
2 tablespoons cacao powder
2 teaspoons lucuma powder
Optional toppings: Banana slices, cacao nibs, peanut butter for drizzling
Directions:
1. Add almond milk, peanut butter, and dates to the blender. Blend for 1 minute, until the dates are blended into smaller pieces.
2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the blender. Blend until smooth and creamy. If it’s too thick, add more almond milk.
3. Serve and add toppings if desired. Enjoy!
What’s your favorite type of smoothie?
