One of the places on the top of our list to see in Portland was the Saturday Market. We had read such great things about it and love any sort of outdoor market so we knew it was something we couldn’t miss.

First off, we were so surprised by how big it was! We didn’t even know where to begin! We just started at the end and worked our way up, admiring each and every handmade item. I loved the wood painted watermelon bowls and almost bought one. They were so cute and summery. Another handmade item I really enjoyed seeing was the soap truffles. I thought they were so unique and would make a great gift. We didn’t get any food there since we went right after breakfast at 10 AM but it seemed like there were some great vegan options around.
I wore my hooded parka which got so much use on this trip! It’s lightweight but can easily be made warmer with a sweater worn underneath it so it was the perfect jacket for the Portland weather. It was really cold in the morning but heated up by 11 am so I shed my jacket and stayed cool in my embroidered lace tank. I also wore my favorite skinny jeans by Hudson and my trusty combat boots from Target which are currently on sale for $12! I’ve had these for almost two years now and they are still in great shape and I always get compliments on them. I love that non-leather boots can hold up just as well. You’ll notice in my upcoming posts that I wore similar outfits throughout the trip. I tried to pack light by making sure each outfit had a piece (or two) that could be worn in a different outfit (i.e. boots, jeans). It’s really a great way to save space in your suitcase!
p.s. I didn’t realize my bag was backwards until we had gotten back to our AirBnB and looked through the photos! How funny is that?
