Thursday, we headed up for a cabin trip in the mountains with our friends. Big Bear Lake is one of mine and Thomas’ favorite winter destinations. It’s only three hours away from San Diego and it feels so good to be transported to a snowy wonderland. On Friday, we were lucky enough to have a sunny morning with perfect weather for hiking so we set out to explore Pine Knot Trail.
Sweater: Maison Jules, Shorts: American Eagle Outfitters, Ankle Boots: Old Navy (Sold Out; Similar), Necklace: Dogeared
Pine Knot Trail is actually a 6-mile hike so we didn’t do the whole hike since we wanted to have a relaxing morning. Instead, we hiked a short way up the trail and enjoyed the views. Thomas and I were so happy to be able to do this hike with our friends Marin and Aaron. Traveling with friends is so much fun and we are making more of an effort to plan more trips with all of them. Marin and Aaron didn’t get to join us in Salt Lake City so it was so nice to get to make up for that with new adventures in Big Bear.
After our hike, we stopped for teas at the Tea & Coffe Exchange which Thomas and I are obsessed with. We love tea, especially loose leaf, so we try to stop here every time we’re in town. I always go for green or white teas so I got the green passion, a tropical twist on green tea. I love green tea because of it’s anti-oxidant properties and low caffeine levels. After warming up with tea, we headed back to our cabin and nerded out over a few fun games of Pandemic and Settlers of Catan.
As the slow transition into spring begins, I have been slowly incorporating warm weather pieces back into my wardrobe. On this occasion, I paired a cozy Maison Jules sweater with a pair of American Eagle Outfitters shorts. I also layered a jacket on over this look to stay warm. I am obsessed with AEO shorts, they are seriously the comfiest! I love that they offer different lengths and rises which is perfect for someone tall like me. I love this pair because they’re so unique and were comfy enough to wear while being active.
