For a day of sightseeing around the Embarcadero and Lombard Street in San Francisco, I wore a printed vintage dress. I scored this find at La Loupe Vintage for only $5! Before we left for our trip, my friend Marin and I spent a Saturday afternoon shopping at La Loupe at their full moon sale. All of the sale pieces were between 5 and 20 dollars so it was a fun way to go vintage shopping for the first time. I had always loved going to vintage shops but would never actually be able to buy anything because the clothing would be priced over 100 dollars. So I was really excited to find that La Loupe had really reasonable prices! I would have never known had Marin not tipped me off!

I’m always looking for ways to make my lifestyle even more compassionate. I’ve said in the past I try to balance my purchases shopping sometimes from eco brands and other times from contemporary brands. But I’ve really started to realize how much more of an effort I can be making while actually saving money. My friend Kellie has inspired me to shop secondhand. She’s always wearing the cutest outfits she finds on Poshmark. Whenever I would try to shop sustainably in the past, I would just buy something brand new from an eco-friendly brand. I was not really considering that I can shop my favorite brands secondhand instead. After getting a bunch of helpful tips from Kellie about shopping on Poshmark and then Marin taking me to La Loupe Vintage, I find my closet filled with more eco-friendly pieces without spending any extra money.

I modernized this with a mint faux leather bag and cruelty-free strappy sandals. To get a retro look, I also love shopping at ModCloth for vintage-style dresses. This floral collared dress looks pretty similar to the one I have on here and this gingham dress would be perfect for summer picnics. Lately, I’ve also been seeing lots of great secondhand ModCloth finds on Poshmark so try looking on there :)
