I paired a set of embellished hair pins with a purple cruelty-free coat for an easy, warm winter look.

The weather has been so chilly lately that I’ve been sticking with coats and layers. I dressed up a purple cruelty-free coat with an embellished hairstyle.
One of my favorite ways to do my hair is to twist it pack and secure it with a bobby pin. Once I found these embellished hair pins from American Eagle Outfitters I knew it would be the perfect way to dress up the hairstyle.
I actually bought this coat over 5 or 6 years ago and it’s still held up over the years. It’s so cozy and I love the retro babydoll silhouette. The key to finding cruelty-free coats is to look for ones made from acrylic and/or polyester. I don’t shop at fast-fashion stores due to environmental and ethical reasons but they do often have wool-free coats. I now would recommend checking eBay and Poshmark for secondhand Forever 21 and H&M coats which often are free of wool. If not, then you can check out Boohoo or ASOS which do have some wool-free coats. Always check the labels when shopping in store and the product details section to ensure it truly is cruelty-free.
There are so many reasons to shop cruelty-free (environmental, ethical, etc.) and this time of year it’s especially important to be conscious of your clothing. Always check your labels and if there is ever the term “other fibers” I highly recommend avoiding since it most likely came from an animal. Compassionate fashion is always the best way to go
